Mahmoud Hamed’s Contemporary Palestinian Art Exploring Memory Identity and Resistance

We offer a curated selection of artworks and prints by Mahmoud Hamed, a contemporary Palestinian visual artist based in Ramallah, Palestine. His work spans painting, photography, and mixed visual research, reflecting on personal and collective experience under occupation.

Mahmoud Hamed’s practice engages with human questions through a distinctly Palestinian lens. Drawing from life in a colonized society, his works explore memory, fragility, displacement, and the psychological weight of survival. His visual language is intimate, reflective, and deeply connected to the realities of Palestinian life.

Hamed holds a master’s degree in contemporary arts from Dar Al-Kalima University in Bethlehem and a bachelor’s degree in painting and photography from An-Najah National University in Nablus. He has participated in local and international exhibitions and artist residencies, establishing a growing presence within contemporary Palestinian art.
